Welcome to our museum on the experiences of Muslim immigrants in Europe and America.

The "melting pot" of America and the very nationalist countries of Europe are two very different atmospheres in regards to immigration and the process of assimilation. The strong nationalism present in many European countries has created a tense environment that has reacted very differently to Muslim immigration than the United States. The traditional religion of Christianity throughout Europe is encountering an integration of Islam that is unfamiliar and to some, threatening. The U.S., although much more ethnically diverse than certain countries of Europe, still presents strong racial stereotypes in light of certain acts of terrorism that have hindered the experiences of many Muslim immigrants.

Explore our museum as we investigate reasons for this sharp contrast between the European and American Muslim experience. We have found three avenues that are critical to this understanding:

        Nationalism                   Religion                      Terrorism
